Oishi Shrine in Ako is known as the home of Chushingura. In “Kanadehon Chushingura,” or 
”The Treasury of 47 Loyal Retainers,” which originates in this region,
sake is often featured as a significant motive behind the story.
For example, Oboshi Yuranosuke drinks sake and pretends drunk
to throw his enemy off guard. There’s also a scene where sake is served as a farewell, 
gesture before hara-kiri following a successful vengeance.
These are special episodes born from Harima’s rich brewing culture.
