Harima is a very unusual place where all 22 breweries in the region produce a variety of sake with distinctive features. Therefore, they don’t see themselves as competitors. Instead, they are rather friendly peers who share production technologies and introduce clients to each other. They say there is no such thing as “confidentiality” among them, meaning they acknowledge each other’s unique characteristics.
